are getting married!

OUR WEDDING
We’re getting married — in Zanzibar! And you’re invited to celebrate with us in paradise.
We’re so excited that this is actually happening, and even more excited that we get to share it with
our favorite people… in Africa!!!
If it’s your first time in Zanzibar and you have no idea what to expect — same.
The bride has never been either, so we’ll all be figuring it out together.
This site has everything you need: event info, RSVPs, what to wear, and a few things we think will
make your trip smoother.
Have a look around, keep checking in for updates, and get ready for sun, sea, and a whole lot of
celebration.
We’re counting down the days — see you in Zanzibar!

DRESS CODE
20th August - Reception (female only)
Dress Code: OCEANFRONT GLAM
This is a ladies-only event — so hijabis, feel free to wear styles you might skip in mixed
company—anything from sleeveless to covered glam is welcome… wear whatever makes you feel
your best.
Think red-carpet meets the beach: Glamorous, but breathable.
•
Shoes: Wedges, block heels, or stylish flats will save you from the sand; stilettos will not.
•
Fabric tip: Lightweight and airy — you’ll thank yourself later.
21th August - Family Lunch
Dress Code: Beach Formal
It’s a full wedding reception, just on the beach — so come dressed for a celebration, but keep the
setting in mind.
•
Ladies: Floor-length gowns, structured kaftans, or formal dresses in soft, breathable fabrics.
Statement pieces welcome, just swap stilettos for block heels or embellished flats.
•
Men: Lightweight suits, crisp linen sets, or a Omani dishdasha — all are perfect. Add a pocket
square or light blazer if you'd like to dress it up further. Sand-Smart Shoes: Loafers, sandals, or
espadrilles — anything that won’t sink into the sand
Frequently Asked Questions - Zanzibar Wedding Edition
You asked. We answered. Here’s everything you need to know before joining us in paradise.
What's the best time to arrive and leave Zanzibar?
We recommend flying in by Tuesday, August 19 and heading home after Friday, August 22 — that
gives you time to settle in, enjoy the island, and not rush the goodbyes.
Oman Air operates direct flights from Muscat — easy, breezy, no layovers.
Can transportation, tours or extra services be arranged?
Yes! Our on-the-ground fairy godmother is RIYA Concierge — they’ve got you covered (for an extra
fee). Want a pickup? A private tour? They’re your people. WhatApp: +255 752 406 441
Where should I stay?
The main venue is Ycona Luxury Resort in Marumbi. It’s a dreamy beachfront spot — but with
limited availability, so book early!
www.yconaluxuryresort.com or Bookings via WhatsApp: +971509268559
You can also stay anywhere nearby in Uroa or Marumbi
Are children allowed?
Children shouldn’t attend the female reception. They can attend the family gathering, but must be
included in the RSVP.
Can I take photos or videos?
At the ladies-only ceremony: Let’s keep it photo-free so everyone can feel completely at ease.
At the family reception: Snap away! But please don’t share photos of the Saif or Hawraa on public
platforms — they’re going for an intimate, low-key vibe.
Are there planned activities for guests?
There are no official group activities.
August 22 is a free day to explore. We recommend:
Safari Blue
Nakupenda Sandbank
Prison Island
RIYA Concierge can help arrange these activities.
Do I need a visa or vaccinations?
No vaccinations required.
As for the visa: Yes, you’ll need one. But don’t worry — it’s super simple.
You can get a visa on arrival at the airport for $50 USD, valid for up to 90 days.
What is the weather like?
Think sunshine, 30°C, and beachy breezes.
It may get a little windy near the water, so pack hair ties and beach-friendly glam. Consider that
when choosing your outfit (and shoes)!
Can I bring a plus one?
Invitations were sent individually, but if you’d like to bring someone along, just check in with
Saif or Hawraa directly. We’ll do our best to accommodate.
